Keith Ratliff, one of the staff members behind the popular FPSRussia video series exploring the weapons featured in video games, has been found dead in his Northeast Georgia home.

Kitty Wandel, another key member of the channel, posted this information to Twitter:

"As I am sure most of you know Keith Ratliff has been with the FPS Russia channel for quite some time now, helping us out with everything from pulling pranks to finding almost impossible weapons to use in videos. It saddens me to confirm that he was indeed found having passed away here in Georgia on Thursday. I do ask for some privacy right now as you can imagine it has shocked us all and our main thoughts and concerns lay with his family right now. Thank you for understanding."

Apparently, Ratliff's death occurred last Thursday, but he had not been publicly identified so that family members could be informed. Police have stated that he died from a single gunshot wound to the head, and that until the investigation demonstrates otherwise, the death will be treated as a homicide.

While Kyle Myers is the public face of the FPSRussia channel, Ratliff worked closely with him on video projects. In addition, Ratliff operated FPS Industries, a firearms manufacturing company.

------

Drôle de coïncidence qu'un des piliers de FPSRussia soit retrouvé sans vie au même moment où il y a tout ce brouhaha sur les armes à feu.

..This page was created on the tenth. 4 days before the shooting happened. Now tell me. If it was so sudden, how was there a fundraiser already setup?

He makes fun of the situation, laughing a few times. At around 1:50-2:00, he gets lost in what he is saying; looks at a police officer to our right who then nods.

Just "Happened" to be on Dec 14, the same day of the shooting? Well maybe. Wait.. Friday? A free, Friday-only course? I don't think so. Also, there are simple things that don't add up. class size limited to "30" 5 of 40 seats available last day to register: 12/13/2012 Yeah, right. Coincidence.

Incroyable !

On average, according to the organization, a multiple-victim shooting happens every 5.9 days in the United States !

http://www.thedailyb...g-epidemic.html

Ici j'ai *au 149 jours*

Over the past 30 years, that figure is about 222 days — seven months or so. But as we noted on Monday, the pace of shootings has increased dramatically recently. Since the first shooting in 2004, incidents have occurred about once every 149 days.

Looking at the past 30-plus years of spree- and mass-shootings, this is the easiest trend to spot. Nearly two-thirds of the 67 incidents — 65.7 percent — were at the hands of a white person. Only one was committed by a female.

Most of the shootings in the database occurred at a place of business, either one where the shooter worked or a restaurant or other such facility.

The average age of men committing such crimes: 38. Include school shootings, and that age drops to 35.6. moyenne vs mode...

And it shows that about 63 percent of those involved in mass shootings had some history of mental health issues.

The vast majority of guns used in mass killings were obtained legally — 81.8 percent.

Washington state has had far more shootings than its population would predict — five incidents where 1.27 might have been expected. Illinois is on the other end of the spectrum, with only one incident compared to the 2.37 that population would suggest.

Washington state ranks ninth in the number of people in that category; 18.46 percent of its residents are men in that age group. Illinois came twelfth.

Calculating the average population of each location where these incidents occurred gave us an average population of about 214,000.

At the incidents we focused on, an average of 7.6 people were killed and 6.5 injured.

La pensée linéaire probalistique voulant qu'en diminuant le nombre d'armes en circulation on diminue la probabilité que le malade s'arme, est absurde.

Oui et non

We considered other factors, too, such as the recent report linking gun ownership to gun homicides. But those data correlated more strongly to non-mass-shootings.
